The words expressed that of Writer65 and not of Pastor Pfleger’s
I have “witnessed” Pastor Pfleger… work tirelessly trying to get common sense gun laws passed in Illinois. I understand his plight…Because he and I have had gun violence impact our lives tremendously!
However, the growing violence is very expensive on many different levels! I find it amazing that many people turned a “deaf ear” and a “blind eyes” to what is happening all around this nation with the ownership of their “firearms”.
I know that people like to categorize what they “perceive” the violence problem to be. And some of those things I might be in agreement with to some degree.
Yet, when we hear about political figures or it happens in places you might “think” gun violence wouldn’t be effected. When a nation is impacted in this factor… stemming from gun violence and then only then it shines a “little” light on the systemic situation!
Now that Conceal and Carry is finally here in Illinois… Many questions are being raised in how will this impact this state especially in the church house?
You have your right to bear arms…and we have to right to see this state can grow without being impacted by the ignorance of so many! We have a lot of trigger happy “Barney Fife’s” …I am in agreement, there have been a lot of church shootings as well.
What is to protect us from violence in the pews? Shooting pastors in the pulpit isn’t new…but social media and technology sheds more light that was once hidden from the public. I personally have seen this “strong influx” of idol worshiping, stalking, religious fanaticism and MENTALLY ILL EVIL. Which is a “great concern” for me personally!
So, I am for investing in more church security more than ever. I am not speaking about these arrogant(FAKE) security individuals… I am speaking about “trained experienced security” that knows what his or her job entails including bearing arms, have the “right interpersonal skills” and proper take down methods.
Homemade security frightens me on many different levels. This is just my prophetic insight…1)Everybody ain’t that in love with you to protect you for FREE… People deem to have a stronger love for you when “pay” is implemented. 2)They will only do what they are “paid” to do. There are no personal issues against you just in case they “know” you. Professionalism is key… not your personal preferences! This is what I have “witnessed” and experienced! 3)When people “like” you they have tendency to abuse their “little” privileged into a private matter.
All because we have our own people to secure us… doesn’t mean that they will secure us! Deception, is always closer to us than we think. Understand what boundaries are and understand that sometimes the “enemy” might be sitting with you. A professional system in place doesn’t full proof us but it’s a lot better than f “what a fool believes”.
I believe where the church can get a little ignorant and blind sided… trusting people we know to secure us. How about “hiring” the right people to do the job? Yes, I know about the Armor Bearing Business…Sadly, this has been mistaken for some kind of “pumped ego” position. Armor Bearing is biblical but not how the worldly church is implementing it. This is a ministry not a “Playboy Club… or some kind of social status for the church. Or a reason for the church bullies to abuse God’s people!
The “ignorance” about what a true Arm Bearer does… have yet to be seen. They are of a prayer ministry that will guard your life with theirs. Which is often mistaken for looking like overbearing flukes with cheap suits on!
As many of us would like the “truth” we fail to execute on what it is. Many situations will arise when people who really don’t have the best attitudes to be securing anyone including themselves.
I have seen things get by “homemade security” systems… Sleeping on the job, non vigilance… too afraid to step up and be accountable… or better yet… that one that takes his or her security to another level by being JUST RUDE! Which “wisdom” tell me … this might inflame a situation. As a Christian we often make look like God has a schizophrenic behavior. When you have professional security teams in place… God welcomes that with open arms bearing arms!
Yes, I do believe some people should be able to “bear” arms but I am speaking “Law Enforcement” and those who have the proper training to operate a fire arm. How many times I’ve heard personal stories of mishandling a firearms?
Now, I know you are saying what does this have to do with “Conceal and Carry”?
Have you not heard lately that many folks are getting more than hype by carrying a gun? I know that sooner or later we will hear more about the tragic nature of those who get “pumped” up by carrying a pistol.
If we had a better tracking system about guns then I do believe we can reduce the risk of more senseless gun shootings. I understand people who have fears of home invasions or some criminal act violated against you. The answer to gun violence… is not a gun for a gun!
I am not being hypocritical … I have told the story of my family were gun totters. I do agree, that we must get with the program because we will be among those who carry a firearm… Here is my question? Who is that “trained” to carrying one?
