No one asked me but I will express it anyway!
Honestly, when it comes to the number “thingy” will it even matter? We know that a lot of crime goes unreported as well as the “No Switching Rule”.
But it does matter what progress is…when they want you “out” of a job?
Unfortunately, just like Former Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis, Superintendent Garry McCarthy got some haters just because…
People will make a mountain out of a mole hill… Anyone with any common sense knows that the “Police” wont be able to do their jobs effectively if you don’t start cooperating and coordinating with the police for at least the initial steps in crime solving.
And for the few us who has the courage to say… Our problems didn’t start with police neither will they end there!
How many more “Police” will Chicago need?…If the community fail to help with current crew I guess increasing more police is only increasing more frustration. Policing the streets of Chicago is only a “mere” band-aid” to a world-wide epidemic. It doesn’t take much to get in trouble but it takes a lot to get out of trouble. Mr. McCarthy is speaking a foreign language especially when he is talking dynamics of how numbers are recorded… The people want results from him and through him…
Sadly, Mr. McCarthy is going to be the “whipping boy” until crime is all solved in Chicago or until the next “beating bag” is in place!
I am almost sure anyone that comes behind him will get “beat up” even more! His job.. entails only so much. When guns and criminal activity goes on your watch… how many won’t tell? I have experience the “NO SNITCHING RULE” where I use to reside.
I kept the police on speed dial because I had average 4 dead bodies a month on my corner… with gun shot wounds to the head. No one saw anything or heard anything…
Yet, we had a corner full of foolish spectators clowning around about such a serious matter. And the real slap in the face… my block had the fruitless Block Club, and C.A.P meetings but wouldn’t even bother calling the police when they saw the trouble.
I was always outside asking questions and talking to some of these heathens. They had no respect and on regard for human life!
As educated as some of these people are pretending they “want to stop the violence… Some of the things that they require is unbelievable and unreasonable! I didn’t need the Mayor or the Superintendent to visit my neighborhood… My neighborhood was frequent with police presence… they were familiar with me… cleaning my blocks and keeping the neighborhood tidy from the physical and human debris that loathe the corner with liquor bottles and other waste material from last night partying!
Chicago plays this political game… especially when it comes to dealing with who they call an “outsiders” … No pun intended to my readers from the East Coast. Some of the silliness in politics are just mind-blowing to say the least. When the ill thrust of “egos’ get together…Look out!
I’m sorry Superintendent McCarthy… You’re numbers doesn’t mean a thing to the firing squad who already have prejudged and misconstrued situations.
My next question is what is Mr. McCarthy’s job criteria?
Apart of having great interpersonal skills… but I don’t think he is a “social worker”. Everyone isn’t racist all because his face is pale. Because I personal have encountered dark faces who can be just as prejudice but we step around that. It’s not popular to rock the boat of lies and deceit no matter what race they are!
As much as we want to solve crime and end the gun violence. Am I to believe that we actually want the police to babysit and have bible study with every house and heathen, until crime is down?
If I thought for one minute Superintendent Garry McCarthy was on some nonsense… I would call it out. He has done the best he can with the cards that has been dealt to him.
Yet, I have ask some Chicagoans where were you when many “blacks” were wrongly convicted and tortured? Some Chicagoans have the strangest allegiances. We must tell the truth about who we “allowed” to manipulate us on their watch.
So far…Superintendent Garry McCarthy,
Has been the most approachable, transparent and responsible. It doesn’t take a brain scientist to see… that he is really getting tired of people who “think” they know his job! While others got away with just about anything and everything!
Some of Chicago amazes me at their ignorance. Yes, I said ignorance! Follow me if you will… and lets take some simple steps to making my point.
I have to ask this question and all of us must make some serious assessments of our people, our communities, our leaders, and a few other things when it comes to dealing with the overall crime and gun violence.
What’s up Chicago?
The Police isn’t the problem… So many things that plague especially the black and the brown communities are systemic. Yes, there are many factors involved but we must first deal with the facts. Chicago has had their share of “dirty cops” and we know it.
Who was called out then? What Superintendent came under fire ?..
Moving right along! We are now dealing with some jacked up policing from other people watches from years ago! Chicago has got a lot of confronting to do. And someone has to have some testicular fortitude to say… Enough is enough with the lies that we feed ourselves and our communities.
The effort to get rid of the gun violence is to first do the quick path approach and that is to identify the “monsters” looming …
So we must ask?
What’s in your house?
Who hasn’t encountered some difficult moment with bad policing especially if you are brown or black? People get real… the number thing is going to always feel inaccurate especially when you see body bags on a regular in your neighborhood!
But I have to ask these questions…
When will some honest dialogue exist about how crazy some of the people’s parenting skills are and address those people who incubate the evil?
Is that fair to continue employ more cops because of the lack of family dynamics that exist within our communities? Getting more cops means getting more monsters. Chicago is already under fire for previous spending habits.
Something has to be plucked up from the community to see the any results or make a difference! If we continue in this manner… Heathens are multiplying! All because many “failed” to their job in Chicago… and we know it!
Or will it be easier to get some sensible gun requirements and some stricter sentencing for those who are caught wrongly with a firearm? Would it be fair to say we need to confront our community cancers?
And now that Mr. McCarthy has made through Chicago political firing squad… I ask this last question…
