Annie Lee Cooper… was born in Selma, Alabama in June 2, 1910. She dropped out of school and move to Kentucky…and then returned back to participate in the Civil Rights Movement!
The police deputies then beat her to the ground. Charged her with “criminal provocation” and was escorted to jail and held 11 hours and wanted to charge her with attempted murder. Annie Cooper became a registered voter after the horrific incident.
On, June 2, 2010 she turn 100 years old and died November 24, 2010. Her mother lived to be 106 years old.
