I am more than please with our Chicago Black Hawks who won the Stanley Cup and they have done a super job as being a champion team…
However, as I was in the thrill of it all, our world came crashing down again, after the recent tragedy of Charleston Massacre… I begin to check my phone with updated news report. I know that I read every newspaper around the country maybe too much. I begin to see the number of gun shot victims… I was a little taken back with all the shootings especially in Chicago.
This recent strong increase in gun activity is a little shocking and its not even summer yet!
I have been doing this so long advocating better gun control laws… Yet, I honestly tried to remember have I known such a “higher” level of criminal activity everywhere with guns. I had to ask are we still “sleeping” on the fact that the guns are making their way strongly in our community…I had stop and think.,..
Seven Presidents were shot … and three survived and four murdered.
1) Andrew Jackson, shot in 1806 but survived
2) Abraham Lincoln, shot and killed in 1865
3)James Garfield shot and killed 1881
4) William McKinley shot and killed in 1901
5) Theodore Roosevelt, shot in 1912 he survived
6) John F. Kennedy, shot and killed in 1963
7) Ronald Regan, shot in 1981, he too survived.
At this point you would think that gun laws would be better enforced.
How many Civil Rights Leaders in the United States were assassinated by gun? Four were murdered and no one survived…
1) Medgar Evers 2) Fred Hampton 3) Malcolm X 4) Martin Luther King To me this is something was can’t afford to breeze over.
The immediate threat of death still lurks with violence and especially with guns. I don’t know what we can do next but I do know that guns are entering our neighbors illegally and most of the time these guns are unregistered bought through bogus gun dealers.
And better yet, for years I believe there was no strong presence through these guns on a rail yards. Isn’t it funny? How many straw purchases and the illegal guns are not infiltrated in this manner? No coincidence but I know we need better security measures when it comes to the railroad and overall transportation industry.
Odd, the Mexican drug cartel always seem to get their guns from the United States, no surprise here!
This has always bugged me for years. What seem like the first place they’d look for illegal gun purchases …Regardless of what jurisdictions belongs to whom…A better monitor on who “throwing” the guns from the train might be a running start. Transportation of these guns are not just coming from local street dealers… there has been word that the bus station seems so be overlooked as well…Many use women to bring the guns in illegally. I know if I have heard the dirty deeds surely someone in ranks can get a read that someone is dirty in these businesses….
They are still around Chicago locating that beautiful cup… but some mother is wondering when are they going to locate her sons killer.
I wish they put in a few hard days work…on cracking down illegal guns!
