I love me Viola Davis…She is who she is. Beyond being gifted but just “raw talented” is such a cheap word. She “was” considered I believe the underdog… because she kept it real! All NATURAL… which isn’t really the entertainment industry sell…
I cried when she spoke Harriet Tubman during her acceptance speech ….because I knew she knew she arrived without all the “JUNK”… that most describe as beauty and talent…For me it wasn’t her r chocolate skin but it was what came out of her heart!
The best any person can give themselves is staying truth to who they are… and not conforming to what the people want you to be…Viola Davis proves a lot to many of the women of color… It will take knowing who you are and not what others “prefer” you to be”. A fake!
Viola Davis continues to rise and shine. I remember when shared a very intimate side of her days of being poor and eating out of garbage cans. I am mostly proud of her because she is truly a class act. Although many like to believe that they are “class acts” posted in their night garments. She didn’t have to sell herself to the devil to make this huge impact. in the movie industry. She didn’t take all of her clothes off…and spread eagle on some freak magazine!
Congratulations!!!!!She is now the FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN TO WIN BEST OUTSTANDING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES….
