I just want to give another perspective if I may. From the theater to even in the music entertainment industry… Many refuse to set the pace for their artistry with class and some taste. People have glamorize ” violence, and soft pornography” and call it art.
Where is the art in degrading yourselves as men and women? We have to stop giving part answers to the truth! I don’t care how big their names are… We have to stop allowing others to paint us in a negative light and go along with their money. All because they “made it” in their particular element.
My question is look how far many may have laid down, or rolled over? What future is this for the next generation teaching our young men how to be pimp or player… and women on their “bare bottoms”… posted up like sex slaves? Women are getting dolled up for” community prostitution”…
What level of God conscious is left is unthinkable. It’s funny many are worshiped for the “garbage” when they have hit a certain status.
Where are the mentors? …But the part what blows my mind that many will do anything to hustle and flow …sort of speak. People are applauding this foolishness and paying to either see it, or watch it. A difficult step would be to stand up for yourselves. Power is addictive and people want it and never really knowing the downside to being apart of their salaries!
In turn people continue to take these parts that portray every negative stereotype their is. Let start with the messiness of the reality buffoonery? I know the money talk… because I see people begin to try to disillusion God’s people with distorted truths. As much as many detest who many of our Afro Americans have won “Oscars” in what many call their stereotypical roles people continue to take those roles believing a better day is coming. We begin to call “filth” a new young people’s era and I am embarrassed that many feel like they can even pick the ball up… Many have the knowledge and technology but where is the “wisdom” on how to apply it!
Sorry, people no matter what the new fad was in my day. I still had to conduct myself as a young lady not a cheap commodity. Unfortunately, no one cares what is heard on the radio, nor more than we can change many of the negative perception. But I think, we first must have a problem with what roles we play how we participate, and what we give our ear to…
What have you really done to reach back to build in another capacity? People are getting rich on the backs of the poor … or laying on their backs!
Sadly, I honestly believe that this so call Academy Board don’t have to be hard on people of color… if only we can stand back and analyze just how, what , when and why many of our people continue to go along and mess it up themselves! We can’t continue to give them the weapons to work with!
